Possible third suspect in Richmond attempted kidnapping

Police in Richmond plan to release video and pictures today, as they try to identify an alleged third suspect linked to the attempted kidnapping of a man and his five-year-old son.

Few details were released about the August incident, but RCMP credited a passerby for calling 911 after spotting four men handcuffing the father and forcing him and the boy into a car in the 3,000 block of Corvette Way.

Officers quickly tracked the vehicle, freed the father and son, arrested two men and seized a handgun in what they described as a targeted incident but not likely related to gangs.

An investigation has been underway since August as officers try to trace the two other suspects seen by the witness.

More details about those men is expected to be released at a news conference later this morning.
