Police revealed the identity of the victim and a second man charged in a Surrey targeted home invasion on Saturday.

IHIT spokesperson Jennifer Pound says that 30-year-old Donald James Chad has been charged with second degree murder and robbery with a firearm in connection to the death of 44-year-old Corey Bennett.

On Friday, IHIT announced charges of manslaughter and robbery with a firearm against 27-year-old Matthew Rene Bernard in connection to the case.

Bennett was severely injured during a Nov. 9 home invasion in the 2600 block of King George Boulevard, and later died in hospital.

Both Bennett and the home were known to police, and IHIT took over the investigation from Surrey RCMP after the death was deemed suspicious.
