Police hope video will help drivers make better choices

People pulled over for distracted driving in Toronto this week may have a choice offered to them – watch a video or pay a fine.

The choice seems like an easy one, but Toronto police hope watching the video will help them make different choices in future.

Police have produced a new 15-minute video that shows what frontline officers, doctors and experts see when dealing with the aftermath of crashes that result from either impaired or distracted driving.

The video also includes interviews with a coroner and a woman who lost a family member in a collision.
