Three players with Laval University’s celebrated Rouge et Or football team have been charged with assault just days after their Vanier Cup victory.
Receiver Artchill Monney, 26, defensive lineman Michel Savard, 23, and quarterback Alexander-Justin Skinner, 21, are charged in connection with a bar fight in Sainte-Foy, Que. last June.
The partner of one of the players, 19-year-old Leila Barlovits-Martel, is also facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
The victims include an off-duty Lévis police officer and two women, according to Radio-Canada, CBC’s French service.
Team officials are not making any comments.
The three men are expected to appear at the Quebec City courthouse on Jan. 8.
