Rob Ford was the subject of much mockery and scorn Thursday morning after making some less-than cogent comments about public health care and women sports fans on a Washington D.C. sports radio show.
Asked about Obamacare by the hosts of Sports Junkies on 106.7 The Fan, Ford expressed his disdain for public health care, despite the fact that Obamacare isn't really public health care and depends entirely on private insurance providers.
"I don’t believe in all this public-funded health care, we can’t afford it. If you want health care, you pay for it," Ford said.
Twitter users were quick to point out that Ford has styled himself as a champion of low-income people and that it's easier for someone as wealthy as Ford to support private health care.
Ford also raised the ire of the Twittersphere with his comments on women and fantasy football pools. Ford said that women often win pools but that they just pick the "cutest guy." Many women were, to say the least, not impressed.
