A news release says Moncton city council approved the four-year deal yesterday.
The agreement is retroactive from Jan. 1 of this year and includes a six per cent wage increase over four years.
The workers — which include clerical and technical staff, supervisors and managers — represent a third of the city's workforce.
Mayor George LeBlanc said in a statement that the employees are crucial to delivering services to residents.
He says the agreement treats workers fairly while being fiscally responsible.
