FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - Two people are dead following a crash on a notoriously dangerous highway in northern Alberta.
RCMP say two vehicles collided Tuesday on Highway 63 south of Fort McMurray.
Police closed the highway as they investigated the cause of the crash.
No other information was immediately available.
Highway 63 is the main connector between Edmonton and the oilsands region.
It has been dubbed "Death Highway" because of many fatalities over the years.
The provincial government is working to twin the highway in the hope of making it safer.
