Leafs' David Clarkson faces hearing for hit on Blues' Sobotka

Looks like another member of the Toronto Maple Leafs is headed for a meeting with the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

David Clarkson is facing his second hearing this season after hitting St. Louis Blues left winger Vladimir Sobotka in the head. Sobotka remained in the game.

The hearing will be by telephone and it's scheduled for 9 a.m. ET on Saturday.

The Leafs power forward was penalized for an illegal check to the head and spent two minutes in the penalty box during the second period of Thursday night's matchup between Leafs and Blues.

Clarkson was suspended earlier this season for leaving the bench to engage in a pre-season fight against the Buffalo Sabres.

The Leafs have had five players suspended this season: Clarkson, Phil Kessel, Carter Ashton, Nazem Kadri and Dion Phaneuf.
