Gwyneth Paltrow Restart Project: Star's Web Series Celebrates Real Women (VIDEO)

VIDEO: Gwyneth Paltrow Sets Out To Celebrate Real Women

There are plenty of people in the world who want to have Gwyneth Paltrow's life — but in her new endeavour, she wants to find out what's going on in yours.

When it was announced that Paltrow would be creating a web series with her now-famous trainer, Tracy Anderson, most assumed it would be along the lines of Jane Fonda's workout videos — an exercise routine with a sweating (sorry, glowing) star as the main attraction. In the recently launched AOL On series The Restart Project, however, it's evident Paltrow and Anderson are aiming for a lot more.

The actress has made no secret of the importance she places on exercise and diet, extolling the virtues of Anderson whenever she can. And Paltrow's own diet (based on eliminating certain kinds of food, and drinking lots of juices) was was of the most sought-after of 2013.

So Paltrow and Anderson are taking that show on the road with The Restart Project, talking to women whose lives have changed thanks to how they exercise and how they eat. The twist? Most of these women are overcoming a massive change, whether it's the heartbreaking loss of a son, as in the first episode shown above, or getting through breast cancer treatments.

How can an actress and a personal trainer help these women? Naturally, it's hardly their presence that makes the episodes so compelling, but instead the very touching and real stories told by the subjects that draw us in. It may take the draw of Gwyneth to get a video of a karate-taking, butt-kicking mom made, but either way, we're happy it's here.
