Alberta man who punched, kicked Mountie in the face sentenced to probation

RED DEER, Alta. - A man who punched and kicked an RCMP officer in the face at a restaurant in Red Deer, Alberta, has been given 18 months probation.

Robert Fleming, who is 59, pleaded guilty Friday to all three counts against him.

On Dec. 28, 2012, Mounties were called to a restaurant in downtown Red Deer to remove an intoxicated man who wouldn't leave.

Police say the man resisted arrest and that's when he assaulted an officer.
