Canada's Matt Dumba escapes world junior ban: reports

Team Canada defenceman Mathew Dumba will still be making his world junior hockey championship debut against Germany on Boxing Day Thursday.

Minnesota Wild's seventh-overall pick in the 2012 NHL entry draft reportedly will not be suspended for his hit on Erik Karlsson of Team Sweden during Sunday's exhibition gam in Angelholm, Sweden.

Dumba, was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct in the second period of Canada's 3-0 loss.

The 19-year-old has twice been one of the last cuts from the Canadian team.
