A hospital in Prince George was shut down for about 90 minutes Saturday morning as a precaution after a shooting took place nearby.
Steve Raper, a spokesman for the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia, said the hospital went into lock down immediately after a shooting happened at about 6:30 PT.
"I can tell you there was a gunshot outside of the hospital," Raper told CBC News. "The RCMP responded and of course when that occurs we lock down our emergency room as a precaution."
Police are expected to make details of the incident public later today.
