Up to 10 skiers awaiting rescue near Red Mountain

A group of eight to 10 skiers who went missing yesterday at Red Mountain Resort near Rossland, B.C., has been found.

The group was reported missing after they failed to return from an outing. Search crews located the skiers early Monday morning, but were unable to get them out of the backcountry.

A search team with supplies met up with the group and has started a fire as they wait for first light.

Trail RCMP say the group is planning to hike to a nearby forestry heli-pad so they can be flown out later this morning.
