Tom Billings Missing: Search Called Off For U.K. Tourist

Search Called Off For Missing U.K. Tourist
PA

The search for Tom Billings, a U.K. tourist who has been missing since Nov. 25, 2013, has been called off.

North Shore Search and Rescue (SAR) carried out an extensive search for the 22-year-old on Saturday but found no sign of him, said a Vancouver police news release issued today.

Billings was last seen making his way to the North Shore mountains, presumably to do some hiking during a stopover in Vancouver as part of a North American vacation tour that was supposed to end on Dec. 7, 2013.

Numerous searches were carried out for the man, and the RCMP did receive information from two women who may have seen him near the Lynn Headwaters on the day he went missing.

But Vancouver police now say that all tips have been followed and all investigative leads exhausted, and any further mountain searches will only happen if officers receive additional and credible information.

Meanwhile, North Shore SAR will keep looking for any clues to Billings's whereabouts during their duties and other searches.
