The freezing rain warning was extended on Sunday morning, stating that significant freezing rain will cover most of eastern Ontario Sunday evening through to Monday morning.
Forecasters said that Toronto can also expect the freezing rain to turn to ice pellets before temperatures reach a high of 0 C.
"These cold, brisk winds will also likely produce widespread dangerous wind chills beginning Monday night," said Environment Canada in the warning.
Forecasters are also predicting terrible travel conditions as roads will quickly turn to ice in the freezing rain.
