Woman sexually assaulted in Surrey park

Surrey RCMP are asking for the public's help after a 25-year-old Surrey woman was sexually assaulted in Fleetwood Park Sunday night.

Police say the woman was walking home from a nearby restaurant when a man approached her on the sidewalk near the intersection of 158 Street and 80 Avenue. She was taken to a baseball field in the park and sexually assaulted.

Police are looking for public assistance to help them identify the suspect. He's described as a six-foot pale-skinned man with a gaunt face and no facial hair, between 25 and 35 years old.

Police say the man was wearing black soccer-style track pants and an oversized dark hoodie at the time of the attack.

Investigators say the attack appears to be an isolated incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
