A decade after the Arcade Fire's initial conflagration, the band have embiggened themselves into the indie U2 and the latest evidence of their cultural largeness is that the Montreal rockers have been once again tipped to headline Coachella, a stage they last held court on way back in 2011.
Which means the real excitement at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will likely be reserved for the return of OutKast as the duo of Andrew 3000 and Big Boi haven't released music together since 2006. The others mainstage headliner is British epic rockers Muse, though also expect a lot of attention paid to The Replacements, under-appreciated 80s pioneers who first reunited this past summer in a few select cities, including Toronto.
The rest of the line-up ranges from dance stars (Skrillex, Discolosure, Calvin Harris) and pop stars (Lorde, Pharell) to rappers (Nas, A$AP Ferg, Chance The Rapper) and 90s icons (Fatboy Slim, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Beck).
Here's the full line-up of all three days, with the same line-up held over two consecutive weekends April 11 - 13 and April 18-20. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. PST on coachella.com.
