Mascouche police chase ends in arrest

A man is in police custody after a high speed chase in Mascouche, northeast of Montreal, around 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Police trailed a pickup truck pulling a trailer for up to an hour, at speeds up to 150 kilometres an hour.

The chase ended in Mascouche with a flat tire after the truck drove over one of the police spike strips.

The driver, in his 30s, tried to flee on foot, but he was arrested by police near the intersection of Anglais Road and Station Street.

No one was injured.

It is not yet clear what was inside the trailer, or whether the vehicle was stolen.
