Man suffers life-threatening injuries in northeast Toronto shooting

A man has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot multiple times in north-east Toronto late Friday afternoon.

Police said they received a call about a shooting on Morecambe Gate, near Victoria Park and Finch Avenue East, at around 3:45 p.m.

Initial reports from the caller were that the male victim was awake and bleeding.

Toronto EMS said one patient was transported to a trauma centre with multiple gun shot wounds to a "lower extremity," and that his injuries were serious.

There was no information immediately available the suspect or victim.
