Suspect sought in Surrey shooting

Surrey RCMP are looking for a suspect after a man was shot and seriously wounded in an attack Tuesday night at a Surrey convenience story.

Langley resident Harpal Dhaliwal, 30, is wanted on several charges, including criminal negligence causing bodily harm and three firearms charges.

Dhaliwal hasn't been seen since he walked into the convenience store on the 10000 block of 152 Street in Surrey on Tuesday evening around 11 p.m. PT with another man.

The pair got into argument and Harpal's companion was shot in the groin during the dispute. The companion was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators warn that anyone spotting Dhaliwal should not approach him and should immediately call police.

Police describe him as 30 years old, South Asian, six feet tall and 160 pounds. He also has tattoos of a spider web on his right elbow and flames on his upper left arm.
