Drake 'SNL' Promos Mock His 'Degrassi' Past (VIDEO)

Drake On 'SNL': 'I'm The Saddest Boy In All Of Canada'

Drake may now be best loved as a rap superstar, but those of us who still think of him as "Wheelchair Jimmy" remember that the MC formerly known as Aubrey Graham began as an actor on "Degrassi: The Next Generation" from 2000 to 2008.

While Drake has performed on "Saturday Night Live" before, his gig this weekend as host and musical guest makes perfect sense, and if these promo clips are anything to go on, we should be able to expect a "Degrassi" skit. Though the teen show, which was a cult hit on U.S. cable during its heyday, isn't mentioned directly, Drake does refer to his past on a "Canadian soap opera." (Check the clip 48 seconds in.)

Then he proves his acting bona fides by slipping into his lovelorn Jimmy Brooks character:

"You broke my heart and I am reduced to the saddest boy in all of Toronto. Y'know what? Not even Toronto. I am the saddest boy in all of Canada."

For those who don't remember Drake on "Degrassi," here's an amazing video of (pre-wheelchair) Jimmy freestyling with Spinner.
