The Calgary Humane Society is looking for the person or people who taped shut the muzzle of a Siberian husky.

On January 9, 2014 an emaciated husky was found dead in an alley in the 200 block of 99 Avenue S.E.

Officials say the dog's muzzle was taped shut with clear medical tape.

It is possible the tape contributed to the dog's physical condition, say officials, and perhaps its death.

“This is a clear a case of intentional animal cruelty which would have caused this animal significant suffering," said Brad Nichols, manager of cruelty investigations with the Humane Society, in a press release.

“We hope someone is able to identify the dog so that we can ensure accountability for this cruel act and prevent future such acts.”

Anyone who recognizes the dog or has any information is asked to contact the Calgary Human Society Protection and Investigations department at 403-205-4455.
