Rifle-toting man robbed Esso, police want to ID suspect

A rifle-toting man in an argyle sweater robbed an Esso gas station prior to Christmas and police are looking to the public to help identify him.

Toronto police say the late-night Dec. 21, 2013, robbery occurred at an Esso station near Markham Road and Finch Avenue East.

Police say it began when the suspect confronted the victim in the gas station parking lot and forced him back into the store.

The suspect demanded cash and lottery tickets. The victim complied and the suspect fled.

Police say the suspect is a 30-to-35-year-old black male, who stands about 5'10" and weighs about 190 pounds.

Images released from the robbery show the suspect wearing a blue toque, a dark jacket and an argyle sweater. Police have also released video from the incident, which can be viewed at the bottom of this page.
