Canucks Coach John Tortorella To Have In-Person Hearing Monday

John Tortorella is about to go to Round 2, but this time his opponent isn't the Calgary Flames.

Instead, the Vancouver Canucks head coach will have an in-person hearing with the National Hockey League on Monday for his actions during a fight-filled tilt with the Flames on Saturday night on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada.

Hockey Night in Canada's Elliotte Friedman reported the hearing late Saturday.

Just two seconds in to the Canucks' 3-2 shootout win, all 10 skaters on the ice from either squad were involved in a brawl to kick off a truculent game.

During the first intermission, CBC cameras captured an angry Tortorella trying to enter the Flames' locker room as tough guy Brian McGrattan pushed him back.

Calgary goaltender coach Clint Malarchuk came out of the Flames dressing room after Tortorella and McGrattan were separated. Malarchuk followed Tortorella, but was restrained by several members of Calgary's staff and McGrattan.

Tortorella could face a fine or suspension, or both if the league decides to take action.
