Police chase ends in shooting near Ste-Adèle school

One or more shots were fired around noon near a high school in Ste-Adèle, Que., about an hour north of Montreal.

The school is Augustin-Norbert-Morin High School, locally known as A.N. Morin.

Provincial police have confirmed that the shooting is related to a police chase that ended near the school.

School officials say the shooting did not involve students, and that students are safe and sound. However, concerned parents can call 450 240-6228 ext. 2008 if they have any questions.

As per standard protocol, the Montreal police force has been called in to investigate because the shooting involves the Sûreté du Québec.
