Fog grounds many flights on South Coast again

Heavy fog is causing problems for air travel this morning once again on B.C.'s South Coast, cancelling flights between Victoria, Vancouver and Nanaimo.

As of 8 a.m. PT most floatplane and Helijet flights in and out of Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo were on hold until the fog lifts.

Some regional flights out of Victoria International Airport to Vancouver International Airport and other B.C. destinations were also cancelled on Monday morning.

The heavy fog also cancelled several flight on the weekend.

Forecasters say fog that has been hanging around the South Coast for the past week is expected to clear later on Monday or Tuesday when a wet weather system moves across the coast.
