This summer's Squamish Valley Music Festival is set to be the biggest in its history, with Arcade Fire, Eminem and Bruno Mars headlining the three-day event in August.

Other notable acts confirmed on Wednesday include British rockers the Arctic Monkeys, Broken Bells, Foster the People, The Roots, Lykke Li, Thievery Corporation, The Head and the Heart, Sam Roberts Band, Atmosphere, Serena Ryder and Tokyo Police Club.

The festival — which runs Aug. 8-10 — has expanded this year (its fifth in operation) upping its size from 32 acres to 81 acres, allowing a possible crowd of 35,000 a day day, up from 19,000 in 2013.

In an attempt to avoid gridlock issues that have plagued them in the past, the festival has hired the transportation expert that managed that area for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

"We are confident that our overall event plans, will ensure this event runs smoothly in key areas of transportation, onsite accommodation, security and impact to the community," the festival's executive producer Paul Runnals said in a press release.

"We feel we have one of the most breathtaking locations in the country and with the convenience of being only 40 minutes from downtown Vancouver, we know that this event will continue to generate significant tourism and economic benefits to British Columbia and specifically throughout the Squamish region."
