Seinfeld Super Bowl Reunion Video Makes Us Long For The '90s

WATCH: Jerry And George Reunite For Super Bowl, Haven't Grown Up At All

When pictures spread last week of Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander spotted outside Tom's Restaurant in New York, fans could only hope it was for as good a reason as this — an actual reunion (not an ad), filmed for the Super Bowl.

Aired just before the Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers halftime show and introduced as "what two average New Yorkers are up to" in honour of the Super Bowl's Empire State location this year, the skit showed Jerry and George sitting in the coffee shop, discussing their lack of Super Bowl plans. From the iconic theme music to the shot of Tom's Restaurant from the outside (though it didn't look quite the same on the inside), it may as well have been 1997 again.

And as for the characters, it seemed not much had changed either. While there was a party to attend at the Wassersteins, George was disinvited from their parties after his behaviour two years ago at the Super Bowl.

"The Wassersteins don't like you because two years ago you overcheered and you ruined the whole party," Jerry says with a sneer. And naturally, there's more.

"You availed yourself of the toilet in their master bedroom," he adds, just as Newman walks in.

Filmed (in character) as part of a special edition of Jerry Seinfeld's latest project, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” (which can be watched in full here), the clip is worth watching, if only to catch the classic bit about the mumble.
