Man accused of selling fake tickets to people for cash

A 22-year-old man from Peel Region faces fraud charges after he allegedly took cash from people for fake tickets to events that were advertised online.

Toronto police allege that the accused used "a popular online site" to advertise tickets to events.

It is alleged that accused then met with people to take cash "for fake tickets to the venue."

Mackenzie Footman, 22, of Inglewood, Ont., faces two counts of fraud under $5,000, two counts of uttering a forged document and a single count of possession of proceeds of crime.

Footman was charged on Friday and is due to appear in a Toronto court on March 14.

Police have released an image of the accused. They say there may be other alleged victims.
