Surrey carjacking suspect sought by police

RCMP in Surrey, B.C., are looking for a carjacking suspect after two people were pepper-sprayed and one car was stolen on Wednesday night.

According to Inspect. Tim Shields, around 7:20 p.m. PT the male suspect approached another man near 108 Ave and 150 St. and demanded his car keys. When the man refused to hand them over he was pepper-sprayed by the suspect, who then fled on foot.

Minutes later the suspect approached a woman a few blocks away in the 10500 block of 150 Street and demanded her car keys before pepper-spraying her and stealing her car.

The suspect is described as:

- Asian male.

- Aged early 30's

- Wearing a dark hoodie.

- Carrying a black bag.

- Using a medium-sized can of bear spray.

The stolen car is a 2007 blue Hyundai Accent, four-door, B.C. license 705 SMR.
