Sochi Olympics 2014: Skeleton Helmets, A Look At The Best Out There

Of all the sports in the Olympic Winter Games, it's possible skeleton is the most terrifying. Put yourself on a sled, slide down an icy track with stomach-churning turns and do it HEAD-FIRST.

So it only makes sense that the athletes competing in the sport would choose some frightening imagery of their own for us to look at. The Canadian skeleton team has been called out for helmets that will "haunt your dreams," and quite a few other countries have followed suit.

We're pretty sure these designs don't give them an aerodynamic advantage but it does make them look great (and give the audience a pretty awesome view ourselves). A look at some of the best:
