5 Things To Know About Alex Gough

Could Alex Gough’s dream of being the first Canadian woman to win an Olympic medal in luge become a reality in Sochi?

The 26-year-old from Calgary is competing in the women’s luge finals at the Sanki Sliding Center on Tuesday. With one run left to go, Gough is in fourth place behind U.S. luger Erin Hamlin in third, and Germany's Tatjana Hüfner and Natalie Geisenberger in second and first respectively.

“I’m confident in my abilities and if I have the race of my life maybe I will have a chance of succeeding,” Gough said Monday, according to the Toronto Sun.
