Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, which reminds us of how many people get the spirit of romance wrong. People like Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias and R. Kelly or even Nick Cave, Death Cab and the Beatles, whose songs can boast inherently sexist, creepy, or downright threatening messages that their singers somehow think are seductive.

But don’t take our word for it. Here are the songs you should avoid playing for anyone on Valentine’s Day (or, y'know, ever), and replace with literally any other choice. These don't create a mood, they create a problem -- so don't let their sweet beats or catchy hooks fool you.
