Patrick Chan Says Sorry After Silver Medal, Internet Gives Him A Big Virtual Hug

A disappointed Patrick Chan apologized not once but twice after winning a silver medal in men's figure skating on Friday.

“All Canadians say sorry, but I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself. I had that chance and I didn’t grasp it," he told CBC shortly after his skate.

"I love you guys. I'm sorry," Chan also said to the camera.

But Canadians were having none of it. In Sochi, athletes tweeted their support for Chan.

But Chan also got tons of love from those closer to home who felt that the silver medalist had nothing to apologize for.

Considering that Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu had to score a world record in the short program for the gold medal we don't think Chan has anything to apologize for. He's a champion in our hearts.
