Karley and Ian weren't married. But when Karley found out that she had cancer, she started to ask herself: "What am I waiting for?"
So she organized a surprise wedding to take place on Ian's 50th birthday, and the whole thing was caught on video.
Their two kids handed Ian notes that asked if he would "marry Mommy," as their family and friends watched the whole thing on a big screen in another room. Then Karley walked out in her dress, and the B.C. couple proceeded to get married in front of their gathered loved ones.

Karley called us and told us she wanted to do one of the craziest things we've ever had the privilege of filming...a 50th birthday party!?! Okay so that's not the crazy bit, the crazy part is she not only planned a surprise birthday for Ian for his 50th, with all his closest friends and family, but she was also going to marry him for his birthday! She planned months in advance and this was probably the BIGGEST secret she's ever kept. Not only that, all the guests knew what was going down as well, and the very fact that the cat wasn't let out of the bag is a testament to how amazing people can be when they know they're about to witness an incredible moment.
