The 'kiss and cry' area, the unofficial name given to the spot where figure skaters, coaches and their support staff receive their scores, might just be the most emotional place in all of Olympic figure skating.

All those years of morning practices, the endless lifts, spins and jumps, boiled down to a number. It's enough to unnerve even the steeliest of figure skaters.
