If you have a cool $40 million to throw around, may we suggest investing in some Alberta property?
Kettle Lake Ranch, a sprawling estate located in the foothills just outside Calgary, is about to hit the market and will be listed for $37.8 million.
The ritzy, 242-acre property includes two houses, a barn, a hay storage building, a gas station and staff accommodations, reports CTV Calgary.
Sotheby's International Realty Canada told CBC Calgary the home sits on land once owned by the Ford Motor Company and the property includes two private lakes, mountain views and several nearby creeks.
Sotheby's Vice President of Sales Mark Evernden, however, says that while the property is massive, the house work would actually be quite manageable.
"It’s not a huge house, it’s only 5,000 square feet of living space, but it’s the finishings that have been done to the house," he told CBC.
"There's been over $1 million of mill work done to the house — all the woodwork."

According to okotoksonline.com, the current owner purchased the property from Ford about 15 years ago with her husband, and the couple spent their time overseeing the construction of the buildings.
Her husband has since passed away and the woman is now looking to relocate to Edmonton.
The estate — just a 10-minute drive southwest of Calgary city limits — might just be the most expensive residential listing ever in Alberta, Evernden told Global.
He estimates it will take up to four years to find a buyer and close the deal.
