Cory Monteith was left out of the In Memoriam tribute at the Oscars Sunday night.
While he was primarily a TV actor, many on Twitter were upset that Calgary-born Monteith was not included in the Academy Awards segment dedicated to those who passed away over the past year.

Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in July 2013. An autopsy found that he had heroin and alcohol his system at the time of his death.
Philip Seymour Hoffman — who died last month with heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamines in his system —was the last to be honored during the Oscars tribute.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this story indicated that Monteith was born in British Columbia. He was born in Calgary, Alberta.
