Julia Roberts' Oscar 2014 Peplum Dress Isn't Her Best Red Carpet Look (PHOTOS)

Peplum was all over the red carpet in 2013 and Julia Roberts tried to keep the trend going at the 2014 Oscars.

The Oscar-winner flashed her famous grin as she posed on the red carpet wearing a custom Givenchy couture gown for Hollywood's Most Glamorous Night.

Yes, America's Reigning Sweetheart looked beautiful in the black lace column gown but we think it could have looked so much better without the distracting peplum (end rant).

Despite the passé trend which was sitting on her hips, Julia made up for it with a peekaboo lace panel at the chest, which kind of looked like a fancy tattoo.

However, ever since we saw a clip of Julia yelling at Meryl Streep in "August: Osage County," we're a bit afraid of criticizing her Academy Award outfit but we think she can take the heat.

After all, she admitted to US Weekly, "I presented one year, I wore a deeply unfortunate palette."

Hey, at least she has a sense of humour!
