The Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators threw on throwback jerseys Sunday and laced up their skates to do battle on the ice in BC Place, which is normally a football stadium, for this year's NHL Heritage Classic.
To kick things off, Vancouver's own Sarah McLachlan sang the national anthem in front of a Canadian flag and atop hockey ice emblazoned with the Tim Horton's logo. Oh, and her rendition of "O Canada" was backed by children from her non-profit Sarah McLachlan School of Music.

Plus, Tegan and Sarah and The Odds also performed.
You couldn't concoct something more West Coast Canadian in a lab. Heck, the Canucks even choked!
