Impaired charges laid after crash kills one, injures second person, in Alberta

CLAIRMONT, Alta. - A charge of impaired driving causing death has been laid after a crash in northwestern Alberta that killed a 49-year-old woman.

RCMP say a pickup truck collided with a car at an intersection on Highway 2 near Clairmont late Friday night.

They say the woman, who was driving the car, died at the scene and that a male passenger was taken to hospital.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

A 29-year-old man from Clairmont has also been charged with driving with a blood-alcohol level over .08.

Nathaniel Onezime Plamondon has been released on bail and will appear in a Grande Prairie courtroom on March 24.
