The recall is happening across western Canada and includes stores in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, but the CFIA says the sandwiches may have been sold in other provinces.
Lucerne products are commonly sold at Safeway, but are also available at a number of other retail outlets.
The products include Lucerne's roast beef submarine, meat lover's sandwich and roast beef and cheddar sandwich.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, food contaminated by salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can make a person sick. Symptoms include fever, headache and vomiting.
Lucerne triggered the recall, but the food inspection agency is doing its own safety investigation.
Federal officials say to date, no illnesses have been reported.
