Pedestrian in critical condition after being dragged for metres

A pedestrian in his forties is in critical condition after he was hit and dragged by a minivan for about 60 metres before it stopped at a gas station.

Frefighters and witnesses had to lift the vehicule to free the victim.

Laval police say the man was transported to hospital with severe chest and head injuries.

The accident happened Thursday afternoon near Curé-Labelle and des Oiseaux boulevards.

Laval police say they are still trying to determine how the accident happened.

The driver of the vehicle is being questioned.
