After months of putting the world under his spell, the Toronto Zoo's polar bear cub finally has a name — and it's a good one. In a video released by the Zoo today, the polar bear reveals his own moniker, Humphrey, with an adorable take on those oh-so-trendy 'gender reveal' parties for parents.
The name came about via a contest held by the zoo and Coca Cola (an association we can only assume is based on this), offering the public six options to choose from between Feb. 11 and March 3: Humphrey, James, Lorek, Orson, Searik and Stirling.
Previously, the cub, who was born on Nov. 9, 2013, has been called by his Inuit name "Piujuq" or "Piu," which means good and nice. According to a Toronto Zoo press release, he'll be known as Humphrey Piujuq in the zoo's official registry. He'll live in the zoo's Tundra Trek exhibit with his mom Aurora, dad Inukshuk and aunt Nikita, can be seen by the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
