A woman who was hit by shrapnel in a recent shooting at York University, says the incident has left her too scared to return to school.
One woman was hit in the leg by a bullet. A second woman, Namra Malik, was hit by shrapnel. She is still having nightmares about what happened.
"The incident constantly repeats through my head," Malik told CBC News in an interview.
Malik said that while some students were videotaping the incident, it was she who called police.
While she wants to return to school, Malik said she remains "terrified" that a similar incident could happen again.
"What if I come back and it happens again?" she said.
York University told CBC News that it has hundreds of security cameras on campus and the school has increased patrols since the shooting occurred.
The university also said it would be speaking to police about how it can improve safety on campus.
