Missing minor league hockey player Terry Trafford has been found dead in Michigan, his Ontario Hockey League team confirmed on Tuesday.

“Our deepest condolences are with Terry’s family and his friends both in Ontario and Michigan. Terry played on our team and was a member of the Spirit family for the last four years and he will be missed,” read the Saginaw Spirit statement.

The body of the 20-year-old Toronto native was found inside his car at a Walmart parking lot in Saginaw Township, Mich., according to Michigan State Police.

“While on patrol, one of our troopers approached a vehicle that appeared to match the vehicle description that the Spirit player was last seen driving,” said Michigan State Police Lt. Brian Cole to MLive.

Trafford was reportedly sent home to Toronto after he violated team rules for smoking marijuana, his father Rob told Global News.

Sun News reported Trafford suffered from depression and had threatened to commit suicide during a phone conversation with his girlfriend on March 1.

Trafford had been missing for more than a week. He was last seen alive on March 3.
