New Brunswick legislature member's rent problems to be cleared up soon: official

FREDERICTON - A spokesman for the New Brunswick government is confirming media reports that legislature member Greg Davis is behind on rent for his constituency office.

But Bob Fowlie, communications director for the Office of Government Members, will not say how much money is owed.

Fowlie says the issue will be cleared up at the end of the week but he wouldn't go into details on how that will be done, citing privacy laws.

Davis, who represents the riding of Campbellton-Restigouche, announced Tuesday that he wouldn't be seeking re-election in September's provincial election for unspecified health reasons.

Fowlie said Davis was not available for comment.
