Ryan Kesler didn't end up getting moved at last week's trade deadline, but he had to leave his Vancouver Canucks teammates early in Wednesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
The Canucks forward was involved in a knee-on-knee collision with Jets forward Jim Slater late in the second period. Kesler was reaching for a loose puck with his head down when Slater skated by and caught him with his right knee.
Kesler appeared to be in pain as he skated cautiously off the ice and hobbled to the dressing room. Slater was given a tripping penalty on the play. Kesler did not return for the third period.
