Good news, seafood fans: Vancouver officially has its first 100 per cent Ocean Wise sushi restaurant.

The Fairmont Pacific Rim's RawBar takes the cake, a high accolade for a place that was only opened in 2013.

“We applaud the commitment of partners such as Fairmont Pacific Rim’s RawBar, whose dedication is reflected by its totally comprehensive sustainable seafood menu,” Teddie Geach, an Ocean Wise representative, said in a press release.

Ocean Wise is a program run by the Vancouver Aquarium and aimed at educating consumers about sustainable food.

RawBar's executive chef Darren Brown and sushi chef Takayuki (Taka) Omi source Ocean Wise-recommended seafood found locally and around the Pacific Rim.

“Our relationships with local fishermen and our passion for sustainability made for a seamless transition," said Brown in the release. "We believe our efforts will contribute to a healthier ocean, and ultimately ensure our children grow up enjoying the seafood that we do today.”

In January, Toronto's Just Sushi was named the world's first fully Ocean Wise restaurant.
