Surrey targeted shooting: Brown van, black pickup seen fleeing

Police are looking for two vehicles seen fleeing the scene of what is believed to be a targeted shooting in the Newton area of Surrey, B.C., early Sunday morning.

A 30-year-old man was taken to hospital in stable condition after being shot at a property near 134A Street and 81 Avenue just before 6:30 a.m. PT

Neighbours had called 911, reporting they heard a loud argument and then several gunshots.

"Witnesses report seeing a brown van as well as a black pickup leaving the scene after the shooting. One of these vehicles is believed to have a broken window," said RCMP regional duty officer Insp. Tim Shields in a written statement.

Shields said the shooting appears to be targeted.

The victim is well-known to police.
